We help you find where your business actually makes money, fix the parts that don’t, and model a decision before you spend anything on it. Most owners run on a profit number that shows up two months late and never tells them what to do next. That is a hard way to run a business.

Bookkeeping tells you what already happened. A CFO tells you what it means and what to do about it. These are the three pieces of that, in the order they matter.
Not a cost-cutting exercise. We look at the actual shape of the business: where the revenue comes from, what it costs you to produce it, and whether that structure still makes sense at the size you are now.
Most businesses outgrow their model years before anyone notices. The pricing, the staffing, the service mix that worked at half your size quietly stops working, and the numbers show it long before the owner feels it.
One company-wide profit number hides almost everything worth knowing. We break profitability down to the level where you can act on it: by service, by job, by provider, by location, by payer.
The useful finding is usually not the obvious one. It is the busy line of work that is quietly being subsidized by a quieter one, or the segment everyone assumes is the problem that turns out to be carrying the place.
Hiring someone. Adding a location or a chair or a truck. Changing your prices. Signing a lease. Taking on a payer with worse terms and more volume. Every one of those is a bet, and most owners place it and then find out.
We model it first. What it does to cash, what it does to margin, when it breaks even, and what has to be true for it to work. You see the outcome on paper while it is still reversible.
Not another report you file without reading. A short list of what matters most right now, why it matters, and what to do about it.

The handful of numbers that actually move your business, each tied to a decision you can make.

A plain-language reading of where you stand, written for an owner rather than an accountant.

Where the margin is really going, and which part of the business is carrying which.

The decision on your desk, modeled both ways, before you commit money to either one.
We would rather tell you no on a first call than six months in.
On that last point. Forecasting on unreliable books produces confident wrong answers, which is worse than no answer at all. If your books need cleanup first, we will say so plainly and tell you what it takes. That is a separate conversation, and sometimes a separate provider, and it is a better outcome than a model built on numbers that will not hold.
The clients below are restoration contractors. That is where this method was built, on a brutal version of the problem: operators waiting ninety days on insurance carriers while making payroll every two weeks, with profitability buried inside individual jobs. A practice waiting on a payer has the same problem in different clothes, and the same three questions answer it.
"Working with Kiwi Cash Flow has been a game-changer for our business. They simplified our financials and gave us clear, actionable insights that helped us focus on growth. Thanks to their tailored reports and expert guidance, we’ve improved cash flow, increased profitability, and feel confident about every decision we make. If you’re a business owner who’s tired of the guesswork, I can’t recommend Kiwi Cash Flow enough—they’re the real deal!"
"Our experience with Michele of Kiwi Cash Flow was nothing short of awesome. We have struggled to find a bookkeeper and/or cpa with real world business experience that does not come at your books with purely taxes in their sight. Michele’s past and current business experience comes through in her forensic accounting skills."
You get a strategic partner who has run a business with payroll, receivables and a bad month, not somebody who has only read about one.
"I own a business myself, so I know the difference between a good month and a month that looked good. The owners I work with are rarely short on effort. They are short on a clear view of which parts of the business are working and what the next decision is going to cost them. That is a fixable problem, and it is the one I fix."
Owner-operated businesses where the owner is also the practitioner or the operator, and where the money gets billed to somebody else and collected later. If you are not sure whether that describes you, ask us on a call rather than guessing. We will tell you either way.
It means looking at how the business is built rather than only at how it performed. Where revenue comes from, what each piece costs to deliver, how you are priced, how you are staffed, and whether that structure still fits the size you are now. Most businesses outgrow their model quietly, and the numbers show it well before the owner feels it.
Within reason, yes, and we will be clear about the reason. We build the scenario from your actual numbers: what it does to cash month by month, what it does to margin, when it breaks even, and what has to be true for it to work. It is a model, not a crystal ball, so the useful output is usually the range and the breaking point rather than a single figure. Knowing what has to go right is most of the value.
Not for new clients outside of restoration. This is CFO and controller work: analysis, forecasting, reporting, and the strategy conversations that come out of them. You keep your existing bookkeeper or in-house staff, and we work on top of what they produce.
Roughly $300,000 in annual revenue and up. That is a floor rather than a target. Below it, the cost of a CFO engagement usually outruns what it returns, and we would rather say so on the first call.
We look before we quote. A forecast built on unreliable books produces confident wrong answers, so if cleanup is needed we will tell you what it will take, and sometimes point you to the right person for it. What we will not do is model your future on numbers that will not hold.
We do not prepare tax returns and we do not replace your CPA. We work alongside them. In practice a good CFO makes your CPA’s job easier, because the year-end numbers arrive clean and most of the questions have already been answered.
No. We work with clients across the country. We are based in the Portland and Vancouver area, so if you are local and would rather sit down, we can do that too.
A Right Fit Call. Thirty minutes, no charge, and the point of it is to work out whether this is worth doing at all. Schedule a Right Fit Call or send us an email.
Bring the decision you are sitting on. We’ll tell you what we would need to answer it, roughly what it would take, and honestly whether we are the right people for it.
